- Plan and execute strategic procurements of engineered equipment for Andritz Separation facilities in North America.
- Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Obtain any missing information if necessary.
- Plan and prepare RFQ's and send to multiple suppliers to get the best prices and lead times available.
- Coordinate and negotiate the technical aspects of scope, price, and lead time according to project plans.
- Research, identify, and select suppliers according to scope, price, and delivery.
- Create purchase orders checking for accuracy and working with stakeholders for approval.
- Review confirmations in accordance with PO's and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Follow-ups and expediting of purchase orders as necessary to meet project schedules.
- Contribute to the achievement of Procurement KPIs for negotiated savings, COQ coverage, supplier pre-qualifications, payment terms, etc.
- Participate in resolving problems and urgencies from sales, engineering, project management and other departments.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business. A concentration in supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in procurement, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, SAP, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent skills in planning, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience reading technical specifications and drawings.
- Familiarity with legal and ethical aspects of procurement and vendor management.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Effectively leverages negotiating strategies and tactics to reach mutually agreeable solutions; focuses on win-win solutions; outlines requirements, contingencies and timetables that help drive discussions toward completion.
- Aligns day to day activities around broader organizational goals and objectives; prioritizes resources based on the strategic objectives of the organization; recognizes and rewards people based on how their actions support the broader needs of the company.
- Comfortable interacting with people at all levels of the organization; adjusts style of conversation based on the audience; uses words and messages appropriate given the background and interests of the people to whom he/she is talking.
- Consults with others on problems and activities; collects information from a range of sources to assist and guide job activities; asks effective questions to obtain information to help him/her perform their job.
- Daily interface with Vendors, Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality Control, and Materials. Overnight travel by air or ground transportation may be required.
