Quality Engineer - Greenville, United States - PPG Industries

Description

As a Quality Engineer you will ensure that quality standards are being met according to corporate, customer, and government regulations.

Document quality concerns and rejected parts. Assists with training and program implementation as well as assist the quality manager as needed. This position will be located at our Greenville, SC plant and report to the Technical Quality Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesBe instrumental in new production part approval process (PPAP) and/or design change parts.
Be involved in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

Participate in and/or lead problem solving teamsEnter Statistical Process Control (SPC) data & perform analysis as requiredAudit processes, products, and/or systems based on:

customer complaints, quality alert print-outs, previous internal/external audits results, process cards; LECS completed; verify settings match parameters; SPC charts completed and out of control points completed; adhesion/cure checks completed according to instructions.

Responsible for GR&R completion & retentionMake all Master Document changes that are lab, wastewater, or quality relatedISO/IATF preparation and compliancePerform training on new/revised quality standards or processesConduct SPC trainingAttend and participate in New Project Team meetings.

All other duties as assigned.

QualificationsBS in Chemistry or Engineering preferredMinimum of 2 years of experiencePrior experience in quality, automotive sector a plusAbility to work with mathematical conceptsAbout us:
