    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking a
    CVPICU RN with at least 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience and active SC or compact license for a night shift assignment.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a 29-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (
    CVPICU) at a Level I Trauma, Magnet, teaching hospital
    Care for pediatric patients with complex congenital heart disease requiring cardiac surgery, VAD, heart transplant, ECMO, CRRT, and advanced cardiac interventions
    Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
    Average daily census is 26 with both surgical and medical cardiac cases
    Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
    Scheduled for 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week period and includes holiday rotation
    Floating within scope required based on facility needs
    Uses Epic EMR system
    Duties include caring for pediatric cardiac patients post-surgery, managing advanced cardiac and respiratory support therapies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
    Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and ancillary staff
    Orientation modules required pre-start (approx. 4 hours)
    First-time travelers are accepted
    Applicants must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate; locals are accepted at a reduced rate
    All requested time off must be provided during application; approval is based on unit needs
    Holiday coverage is required per rotation
    Dress code and scrub requirements to be provided at onboarding
    No travel pair assignments allowed
    Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before applying as a traveler
    During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams

    Requirements
    Active SC or compact RN license required, may start if license is pending with proof of application
    Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
    ACLS (AHA) highly preferred
    Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric cardiac ICU experience required
    Experience with cardiovascular and pediatric critical care required; VAD experience highly preferred
    Ability to meet physical and clinical demands of a high-acuity ICU environment
