• Responsible for utilizing equipment to consistently produce a quality product in an efficient manner and responsible for:
• Perform metal finishing preparation to Class "A" Standards on both painted (black cab repair) and unpainted cabs. This consists of hand working sheet metal, filing, grinding, buffing, and repainting to remove imperfections.
• Set up and perform simple and complex assembly operations on bench, floor fixture, or progressive line.
• Operate hand and/or power tools.
• Inspection as outlined in the Inspection Instruction sheets.
• Operate manual production equipment including, but not limited to, spot welders, MIG welders, gas welders, plasma-cutters, sealer flow guns, sanders, grinders, etc. as appropriate for assigned areas.
• Use various measurement tools.
• Upholding and maintaining the team-oriented environment with quality goals
• Check parts for correctness before starting repair and notify supervisor of any discrepancies.
• Possess the ability to diagnose and correctly repair damage.
• Rework repairs that do not meet company standards or customers' expectations.
• Participate in daily meetings.
• Maintain tools and equipment within department.
• Maintain clean and orderly production area throughout the workday.
• Comply with safety and OSHA procedures and requirements including earplugs, eye-protection, welding helmets, and gloves.
• Be a mentor for all metal finishers and grinders.
