    Title: Diagnostic Imaging Center Manager

    Department: Radiology

    Reports To: Medical Director

    Directs: Imaging Center Staff

    FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

    Position Purpose: Within a full-service Diagnostic Imaging Center, the position supervises the day to day operations of the center, including: patient flow, operations, clinical procedures, and performance of Diagnostic Imaging center staff across the various service lines. The lines of services include, but are not limited to: diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, contract studies, mammography, computed tomography, ultrasound, MRI, and other special procedures. The Diagnostic Imaging Center Manager will integrate assigned administrative and clinical services, processes and procedures with departmental and organizational business goals and objectives.

    Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

    1. Upholds organizational Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws.
    2. Oversees the scheduling Technologists and patients/exams/procedures and assigns daily work.
    3. Reviews clinical tests, documentation, records and procedures for quality and in assigned area monitors work and clinical processes, procedures and systems to ensure quality, patient care and clinical standards/goals are achieved.
    4. Assists in the design and implementation and improvement of a department-wide quality management/assurance program.
    5. Supervises daily work procedures and performance of staff.
    6. Monitors and reviews performance and participates in formal performance evaluation procedure with appropriate departmental manager.
    7. Quality checks radiographs/film for diagnostic quality.
    8. Analyzes technology, administrative and clinical procedures, processes and systems in terms of quality, cost, efficiency and productivity metrics and makes appropriate recommendations to modify/improve.
    9. Implements/monitors policies, procedures standards and clinical protocols in order to ensure quality patient care.
    10. Monitors and reports compliance on an on-going basis.
    11. Ensures compliance with NCQA, MQSA, and other applicable local, state and national standards, requirements and regulations.
    12. Addresses and resolves patient complaints/issues.
    13. Ensures that supplies, tech and radiation generating equipment are utilized safely and in accordance with all departmental, organizational, local, state and federal radiation control/safety/protection requirements.
    14. Implements and monitors radiation safety program in order to minimize radiation exposure and prevent unnecessary exposure.
    15. Conducts regular and special radiation surveys in accordance with local, state and federal requirements.
    16. Develops timely and accurate work load, statistical and operating reports and makes appropriate recommendations to improve productivity and utilization of staff, equipment and materials.
    17. Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.

    Education and Training:

    • Associate of Arts or Science degree in Radiologic Technology Diagnostic Ultrasound from an AMA approved school OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
    • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

    Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

    1. Minimum three (5) years of related leadership experience in the field.
    2. Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable local, state and federal regulatory and radiation safety standards and requirements.
    3. Must excel in multitasking within a high-paced environment.
    4. Strong computer skills, acute attention to detail, confident and professional communication.
    5. Responsiveness to the needs of both internal/external stakeholders in a professional manner

    License, Certification, Registration

    • Nuclear Medical Technologist Certificate (California) OR Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Nuclear Medicine Technologist from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
