The High School Chemistry teacher should love teaching students, generally, and love teaching Science. You are grounded in your knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Science and a desire to make your subject accessible, rigorous, engaging, culturally relevant, and fun. High School teachers must display uncompromising effort at demonstrating or acquiring excellence in the professional areas outlined below:
The successful candidate will hold at minimum a Bachelor's degree and certification as appropriate. All teachers will be required to provide a copy of a valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests before employment is offered. NJ Teaching Certificate for Chemistry (CE, CEAS, Provisional or Standard); Endorsement 2270. Applicants must demonstrate cultural sensitivity, ability to communicate with parents and students, have mastery of subject matter content, be a team player, hold high expectations of students and possess basic understanding of child development.
About QCA
The Queen City Academy Charter School is the first charter school located in Plainfield, New Jersey. QCACS serves 324 scholars in grades K-8 and is growing to serve students in grades K-12. Our mission is to create lifelong learners, and equip staff with the opportunities to successfully shape and transform lives by cultivating learners that possess the ability to be critical-thinkers, and demonstrate leadership skills required to continuously open new doors which create generational successes.
