    The Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) position will perform on-site roadway worker protection for activities on and around live railroad tracks and are responsible for job site coordination, dispatcher/train communication and various types of On-Track Safety in controlled and non-controlled track areas.

    including but not limited to radio communication with train dispatchers and engineers, ensuring work groups are clear of limits during train movements, granting permission for trains and on-track equipment to proceed through limits

    • Handle and place signs, derail and other tools and equipment weighing 15 to 90 pounds, which may be necessary multiple times throughout the day
    • Actively participate in routine reoccurring safety classes and qualification training
    • Understand the On-Track Safety training and qualification required of the roadway workers to be protected
    • Proficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
    A minimum of 2 years of Class 1 Railroad experience; Prior experience working within a railway company

    • Training in railway "Track Inspection Guidelines" or equivalent
