    We are supporting one of our California based clients to grow their engineering team with an experienced project engineer who has worked on utility scale solar projects.


    Responsibilities:


    Lead the electrical design phase of utility-scale solar projects, including the layout and configuration of PV arrays, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and associated electrical components.

    Utilize software tools such as PVsyst and Helioscope to conduct energy yield assessments, performance simulations, and shading analysis, optimizing system design for maximum energy production.

    Maintain accurate documentation of electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and testing results. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    Collaborate with other team members, and have the capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
    Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design, with a focus on utility-scale solar projects.
    Proficiency in solar-specific design software tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD.
    Deep understanding of solar PV technologies, system performance factors, and grid integration challenges.
    Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations applicable to solar energy projects (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL).
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in design calculations and simulations.
    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
    This role is remote but candidates must be based in California.
