    Position Summary Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is located on the downtown Orlando campus and includes 156 licensed beds for specialized care for children as well as the Bert Martin's Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center, offering trauma care for children as the pediatric site of the Orlando Health ORMC Level One Trauma Center.

    State-of-the-art pediatric services are provided by a comprehensive staff that includes pediatric subspecialty physicians and a nursing team that is "Magnet" recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care.

    The hospital also has earned national recognition for 12 consecutive years as a "Best Children's Hospitals" by U.S.

    News & World Report and was included, together with Orlando Health ORMC, in the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals list for 2021.

    Position Summary Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Corporate Audiology is seeking an Infant Screening Coordinator. Infant Screening Coordinator all activities at Orlando Health pertaining to the Newborn Screening Program. Responsibilities Essential Functions Acts as the chief liaison between the State Newborn Screening Program and Orlando Health. Assures that a Newborn Screening specimen is collected on all newborn infants admitted to Orlando Health. Reviews, processes and mails all Newborn specimens to the state laboratory in a timely manner. Processes, tracks and follows up on all Newborn Screening results according to Florida State Guidelines. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of all follow-up activity relating to Newborn Screening. Communicates with physicians and their offices in relation to the Newborn Screening Program. Keeps Department managers informed of changes in the program when necessary. Works closely with Nurse Managers and staff to ensure proper and timely collection of specimens. Takes an active and proactive role in training all nursing unit staff who is involved in specimen collections.

    Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

    Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Takes an active role in the Newborn Screening quality improvement process. Identifies opportunities to streamline and improve on the current process. Attends state sponsored educational in-services for updates on the Newborn Screening Program. Performs other duties as required and assigned. Is responsible for professional growth and development. Qualifications Education/Training High school graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology certifications required or within one year of employment. Licensure/Certification None. Experience 180 days (six months) health care experience required.
