    Creative Capital supports underinvested, risk-taking artists in the creation of new work and in building sustainable practices. Creative Capitals Development Department leads the vital fundraising strategy for the organization, which is widely known as the gold standard in artist support.

    The Development Coordinator will interface with and work with leading philanthropists and philanthropic organizations across the country to support Creative Capitals mission of serving its artist awardees, which include: Simone Leigh, Jeffrey Gibson, Theaster Gates, Legacy Russell, Jesse Krimes, Taylor Mac, Laura Poitras, Becca Blackwell, Meng Jin, Ry Russo-Young, and more.

    Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator has the primary responsibility of providing administrative and programmatic support to ensure Creative Capitals fundraising success. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Development on research and writing to support fundraising activities as well as to manage the donor database in Salesforce; oversee the departments priority-setting event calendar; support campaigns and giving activities; develop, maintain, and expand programs; handle gift processing and acknowledgements; and assist with the coordination and production of special fundraising events with board members, patrons and artists. Related tasks will include coordinating external outreach, such as fundraising communications (print and electronic). This position is also a key liaison to, and will work closely with, the President and Executive Director, and other senior leadership and departments, the Board of Directors and patrons. The Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Development and works closely in collaboration with other departments and staff.

    Responsibilities

    ? Coordinate the administration and daily operations of Development Department, and work with the Director of Development to ensure the achievement of all aspects of the departments goals and initiatives

    ? Maintain donor records and files, process all incoming contributions, grants and gifts, donor materials, including Creative Capitals CRM (Salesforce)

    ? Share weekly contributed income reports for reconciliation with President and Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer

    ? Track appeals and campaigns and provide support to overall fundraising efforts and special campaigns as needed and assigned

    ? Assist with donor engagement by responding to inquiries, facilitate donor benefit fulfillment, and all cultivation and recognition logistics

    ? Provide support for development events including list generation and reports (from Salesforce), gift processing, meeting agendas and minutes, acknowledgements, internal coordination with other departments, and maintaining detailed activities and records

    ? Help draft communications and mailings for events, stewardship mailings for donors, patron and membership acquisitions and renewals, and annual appeals

    ? Attend Creative Capital Awardee performances, exhibitions, and events to support and learn about Creative Capital artists and projects

    ? Support Creative Capitals cultivation events, galas, artist gatherings to help foster the community that gives to Creative Capital artists

    ? Assist with prospect research, donor analysis, and other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    ? Bachelors degree is required and a minimum of three years of professional work experience, preferably candidates who have prior fundraising/strong customer service experience in the arts and culture sector

    ? Excellent organizational and time management skills, including a high level of attention to detail, and ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines

    ? Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise judgment and discretion with artists, board members and patrons

    ? Passionate about contemporary artists working in visual arts, performing arts, film, technology, literature, and socially engaged forms

    ? An energetic and results-driven team member with an ability to be proactive, use independent judgment and initiative, and is a quick learner

    ? Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

    ? Strong relationship-building skills, diplomatic and gracious under pressure, and experience working with cross-functional teams

    ? Experience recording financial information, including using fundraising CRM products, and Excel, Salesforce, and iWave

    The position is full-time, exempt (40 hours/week with ability to do special events or evening work outside of MF 10:00 AM6:00 PM). Ideally, candidates are based in New York City. Includes generous paid time off and benefits.

    Creative Capital will be offering a salary of $60,000$68,000 for this position, commensurate with experience, along with excellent medical, dental, life, disability, and 401K plan.
