- Develop and write complex CNC and PLC programs for machine tools, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Design and execute new electrical and CNC control systems for the retrofit and remanufacture of machine tools and specialized machines.
- Construct detailed bills of materials for electrical and control projects.
- Provide instruction and support to electrical technicians, electrical engineers, sales engineers, and clients as needed.
- Document both preliminary and finalized CNC and PLC programs, maintaining clear and accurate records.
- Collaborate with electrical technicians to establish a safe and reliable control system for all machinery.
- Engage in research and development to innovate new control systems and products enhancing machine functionality.
- Contribute to all electrical and control-related aspects of the business, including high voltage schematics and I/O layout.
- Develop and repair high-level ladder circuits, structured text programs, and parametric programs.
- Lead the troubleshooting of all electrical and control issues, ensuring system integrity.
- Assist the Purchasing department with the procurement of CNC control packages.
- Maintain daily interactions with management, engineers, inspectors, and electrical technicians.
- Fulfill additional duties as required, including travel to customer sites for project-related work.
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and CNC-related software.
- Extensive experience with Siemens and/or Fanuc Control Systems, particularly Siemens Sinumerik 840D.
- Automotive industry experience is advantageous.
- Capable of powering up and diagnosing a broad range of machine tool control problems.
- Advanced programming skills in machine tool control with a strong background in both old and new CNC systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of machine tool applications and both analog and digital servo systems.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate effectively to develop control systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
