The Assistant Director, a professional nurse, oversees daily operations in collaboration with the Director of Nursing to deliver quality patient services while aligning with legal, organizational, and medical staff objectives. This role involves supporting the Director of Nursing in ensuring efficient departmental operations and effective nursing care. Compliance with regulatory standards, The Joint Commission, and Nurse Practice Act is essential for optimal healthcare delivery within budget constraints.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director include planning patient care, leading day-to-day operations, and collaborating with ancillary services and the interdisciplinary team. Operating 24/7, this position also acts as a liaison with the patient's home nursing facility, nursing staff, and physicians.
