    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders or equivalent
    • Model appropriate speech and grammar usage.
    • Knowledge of terminology associated with Speech and Language programs.
    • Clinical experience during the University Program preferred.
    • Work experience with a school or therapy-related agency preferred.
    Primary function:
    Assists the Speech and Language Pathologist in implementing the identified services to meet the student's individualized needs.
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Perform all duties of the speech and language assistant under the direction of a licensed Speech Pathologist functions as required including:
    • Screen students for speech, language and hearing difficulties.
    • Provide speech and language instruction to students based on goals and objectives.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all student information and records.
    • Record data, chart and graph student progress as needed.
    • Assist with the development of the schedule of instruction.
    • Maintain progress notes and update short term objectives as directed.
    • Prepare and construct materials for instruction.
    • Participate in the development and follow established behavior management plan for students.
    • Operate and perform minor maintenance on assistive devices.
    • Prepare conference paperwork and materials as assigned.
    • Participate in in-service training, building and district staff meetings, informational programs and other professional growth activities.
    • Attend case conferences as assigned by the Speech Pathologist - not in role as primary service provider.
    • Contact parents at the direction of the speech pathologist.
