    Description:This position is part-time for a year but they need to be available for full-time work in the summer months (May through August). After the summer months, they need to work 5 hours a day and can work those 5 hours anytime between 9 am and 5 pm to equal 20 hours a week.

    Essential Job Functions:

    1.

    Be willing to learn how to prepare Federal, State, and Local Income and Franchise Tax Returns, including collecting and analyzing financial data, calculating book/tax differences, and preparing supporting work papers.

    2. Facilitate deliverable exchanges between SMS and external service providers, one of which will be a heavy focus in the months of May-August
    3. Be willing to learn how to prepare the monthly tax provision.
    4. Interface with Accounting / Finance / Treasury and ### tax employees concerning tax-related matters.
    5. Be willing to reconcile financial and tax accounts.
    6. Participate in special projects as assigned.
    7. Communicate orally and in writing with tax authorities.
    8. Gather documentation and provide analysis.

    Education/Qualifications:

    1. Working toward a B.A./B.S. in Accounting rising junior preferred
    2. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required.
    3. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat or comparable software
