    Department Summary:

    The Classified Enterprise Infrastructure Department is seeking a technically deep, operationally oriented, and User focused Division Chief Engineer (CE) to provide technical leadership for a set of dynamic and impactful work programs to meet the challenges of Classified Infrastructure.

    As CE, you will be responsible for and have broad oversight of the technical integrity and quality of our work program, products & deliverables, the technical teams, and will partner with and support the Department Manager for strategic work-shaping.

    The individual will be a member of the core department leadership team, providing thought leadership and technical guidance to enable the projects within the department to successfully execute the mission areas of our sponsors to include government connected and internal classified networks from secret collateral to SCI.

    The individual will work on development, delivery, and working on next generation technologies. The Chief Engineer will be an execution partner for the Enterprise Classified Services Department Manager.

    The Successful candidate will be a critical thinker with deep technical skills, and have a demonstrated track record of fostering, promoting and/or fielding innovative ideas and solutions for our staff as well as other departments we work closely with.

    The CE is required to be hands-on in each of the classified systems we support. The CE should identify opportunities to standardize and automate internal (operationally focused) and external (user focused) when possible.


    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Be recognized as expert in technical fields critical to the department's work program and directly contributes to high-impact solutions within the classified work programs.

    Guide the Department's technical investments, technical initiatives, and development of staff skills in support of MITRE's Good Growth Strategy.

    With the Department Manager, engage with our customers and shape the work program to understand the customers' needs and maximize value.

    In close coordination with Department Group Leaders & Project Leaders, ensure the technical strength of our teams, the technical integrity and quality of our deliverables, and establish partnerships or classified infrastructure environments to support the dept work program.

    Support project leaders by ensuring that we are continuously and effectively leveraging staff, capabilities, and investments from across the corporation to maximize impact to our customers.

    Lead the review of requirements of all network design, oversee implementation of network architecting and engineering efforts, and for setting direction and promoting continuous development of the network, including architecture refresh, service offerings and cloud integration.

    Collaborate with other leaders within ECIS to ensure classified systems can operate and interoperate with other corporate systems. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency for interactions with the user community.

    Maintain a multiyear roadmap of capabilities to be deployed in support of users, and work with the MNS Director of Classified Enterprise Infrastructure and the Department Manager of Enterprise Classified Systems to ensure affordability and execution.

    Develop strategic roadmaps that map into tactical execution, while being able to create and share the story of how the capabilities support the users.


    Basic Qualifications:

    Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 10 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 7 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

    Active TS clearance Hold 8570 certifications (e.g.

    CISSP or Sec+) BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) field and 10 years of related experience, with technical depth and leadership in systems engineering, architectures, software system integration, command and control, communications/networking, and/ or DoD acquisition programs.

    Possess the ability to define complex projects or programs, Leadership Presence:

    Communicates in a compelling fashion across the organization (oral and written); inspires trust through vision for the program and the work environment they create; a demonstrated leader MITRE people want to follow.

    Effective at developing close working relationships with senior leaders and customers as a trusted adviser for the leadership on major initiatives, technical challenges, and priorities.

    Proven ability to lead, nurture and develop technical talent and teams. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to execution of multiple missions across a set of work programs. Self-starter and effective time management skills.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Excellent understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and security, as well as experience with network design, implementation and maintenance.
