    ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
    Non-rotating various hours, Monday through Friday. Must be able to work additional hours as needed by department.

    Responsibilities

    Work will be performed in a recreation center environment, as well as offsite and special event locations.

    The essential duties for this position are as follows; must possess strong communication and leadership skills to appropriately address any needs expressed by children 6 to 16 years of age; must use good judgment to effectively supervise a group of at least 20 children; must possess skills in instructing a variety of recreational programs; must be able to administer first aid/CPR, and must have clerical skills to complete required reports.

    Implement weekly lesson plans and schedules of site/center, providing instruction when necessary. Deliver daily deposits to financial institution as required.

    Must maintain a professional attitude for internal and external customers and provide accurate information to the public about City programs; assist supervisor(s) with paperwork; regularly interact with the public, program participants, and parents.

    May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 1 month of hire. A valid driver's license is required at time of application and hire.

    Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

    Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.

    Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
