Reimagine Whats PossibleWe are seeking an Energy Manager at our Global Headquarters in Allentown, PA or office location in Houston, TXThe Energy Manager position will have primary responsibility and accountability for:

Negotiation and management of electric energy supply contracts and interfacing with key internal and external contracts for all US South assets.

Providing expert energy consulting to business areas impacted by primary energy market developments. Provide regular forecasting of power with market trends per the needs of the business area.

Daily coordination with the supply chain organization to optimize plant operations within the energy contract structure to balance Air Products business needs and maximize profits.

Coordinating with sales, marketing, and finance to ensure the structure and management of Air Products energy costs are competitive.
Risk management of Air Products energy supply contracts.
Participating in industrial energy lobbying groups as a leader/strong influencer.

Interacting and establishing productive relationships at multiple levels of management with energy suppliers, energy marketers, public utilities, multiple municipal provincial regulatory jurisdictions, and grid operators.

Participating as a key member with commercial businesses and engineering when new projects are being explored. Identify the best sources of primary energy supply, delivery logistics and new plant location interconnection options. Identify risks, negotiate contracts to get the best possible rates and contract terms.

Ensure that Air Products remains competitive and reduces energy costs as much as possible by utilizing competitive, reliable sources of primary energy.

Understand the impact of energy as the business pursues blue and green hydrogen opportunities.
Assisting in the physical interconnection of new power supply while minimizing capital costs and maintaining high reliability.
Responding to ad hoc requests for energy information and analysis.
Working with the local distribution companies to resolve and improve power reliability issues.
Selecting/managing outside consultants/legal support for purposes of energy purchases and regulatory intervention.
Conducting RFPs, evaluating the results, and recommending the best evaluated provider.
Leading the negotiation of the necessary power supply contracts with the selected supplier.
Leading development and execution of Renewable Energy strategies to align with Corporate sustainability objectives.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelors degree Energy, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business10-15 years minimum experience in electric energy markets, preferably on the buy side5 years experience in electricity regulatory processes is highly desirable.5 years experience in renewable energy is highly desirableSelf-disciplined, self-motivated, demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal direction, and good analytical skills with capability of detailed analysis of a complex nature and able to provide summary/recommendations regarding findings.

Demonstrated prioritization, planning, and follow-up skills in a multi-tasking environment.
Demonstrated commercial skills with understanding of risk mitigation strategies.
