Location: 252 S. 4th St., Lebanon, PA

Department Summary

Float pool or nursing resource team is a unique department that supports our nursing units by moving staffing as needed every shift or even multiple times during an employee's shift.

Float staff are assigned to units based on the needs of the hospital at the time of their shift.

There are a variety of units that staff can be competent to work on and make a significant impact on patient care.

RN's will float to any unit within their scope of orientation.

For example:

med/surg float may float to ED or ICU & only take med/surg boarder patients in ED & ICU med/surg downgrades only.

They do not float to cath lab or OR. They sometimes float to maternity to care for the adults.

General Summary

Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital.

Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.% % %%mednurse%%
