Description
Position SummaryProcess customer RFQ packages.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned
Create accurate pricing and lead time estimations per customer proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Identify labor, material, subcontract process and time requirements
Prepare, issue, receive and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.
Communicate with customers on specification, questions or clarifications regarding the work, during the quoting process.
Present and share estimation info with team and customers
Data entry to maintain cost data base
Work alongside project management and engineers/programmers during the initial planning phase to clarify any estimation decisions, including but not limited to materials and methods
Periodically review estimated hours to actual hours and goals with supervisor and project team.
Seek input on corrective measures to continuously improve the identification and accuracy of cost figures
Manage bid pricing from all vendors
Ensure rapid completion of estimates
Maintain and update a quoting log
Track progress of RFQ to PO with follow up correspondence and document progress in the quoting log
Create robust part masters
Assist customer service
Conduct risk analysis
Job Qualification
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Work experience as a machinist/mechanical engineer/manufacture engineer with proficiency in reading and understanding complex blueprints.
Requirements:
Good leadership and communication skills (oral, business writing, and listening)
Strong problem-solving skills
High level of communication between internal and external customers
Ability to communicate effectively internally, with valued customers and people in all levels of the organization
Work Experience:
Experience in machining and estimating > 2 years
Education:
College or Technical Institute courses in machining
Work experience as a machinist/mechanical engineer/manufacturing engineer
