    Description

    EMT/AEMT Position Summary:


    The primary responsibility of the EMT/AEMT is to respond to calls for service, provide basic life support (BLS) as needed, and transport sick or injured patients to the appropriate medical facility.

    The EMT/AEMT will also function competently as a driver.


    Qualifications:

    The EMT/AEMT must possess the following qualifications:

    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with other crew members and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.
    • Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports.
    • Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail.
    • Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.
    • Physically able to perform all tasks required in the performance of typical EMT duties including but not limited to bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
    • Ability to conduct a thorough examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness or injury. And assist other medical personnel to accomplish this as necessary.
    • Ability to provide prompt medical care to the patient for the stabilization of their condition prior to transport.
    • Ability to clean and restock the unit to place the unit back in service.
    • Ability to precept students or new employees.

    Requirements:
    The individual in this position must possess the following requirements:


    • Age 21 at time of offer letter.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Completion of an NREMT approved EMT/AEMT certification course
    • AHA BLS Provider
    • Current Nevada driver's license with clean driving record.
    • Pass medical evaluation, drug screening and background process post offer letter.
    • Ability to obtain other qualifications specific to the local operation, City and/or contract within 60 days of hire.
    • Complete New Hire Orientation training within 90 days of hire.

    Preferred:

    • Current state EMT/AEMT certification OR SNHD EMT/AEMT certification
    • NREMT
    • EVOC certification
