    Overview:

    Under the direction of the divisional director of the service, the Clinical Manager of OB-GYN, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Lactation and Prenatal Education departments has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department. The Clinical Manager is responsible for contributing to the development of an ongoing oversight of the budgets of the units as well as the clinical operations and outcomes in all areas. The Clinical Manager has authority to make decisions related to patient care, clinical operations, human resources and financial management. The Clinical Manager demonstrates superior communication skills with all internal and external customers and exhibits a high degree of integrity, character, and sound judgment.

    The Clinical Manager works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
    • Three (3) years clinically related experience is required.
    • One year Charge Nurse or supervisory experience is required.
    • Current RN licensure in the State of Florida
    • BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association
    • NRP
    • National Certification in a nursing specialty within one year of employment/transfer.
    • Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of nursing practice
    • Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency
    • Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize, and direct the activities of others
