    Description
    Position Summary: Serves as a strategic HR Business Partner and front-line operational support for assigned business teams. The role will provide leadership and direction for recommending, implementing, and supporting employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. The HR Business Partner will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: workforce planning, change management, employee relations, investigations, performance management, employment law and compliance, and HR reporting, while ensuring that assigned business teams are in full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Build effective relationships with operational departments to understand their business goals and to proactively identify and implement solutions that align with organizational strategies.
    • Partner with managers to develop short- and long-range strategic plans for effective utilization of HR and Operations' human capital resources.
    • Work with management in the creation of strategies related to performance measurement, employee development, and employee compensation.
    • Provide counsel to managers, local HR representatives, and employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Communicate HR related programs to managers and employees.
    • Conduct investigations and maintains disciplinary and grievance procedures in a timely, discreet, and professional manner.
    • Analyze HR data for the purpose of managing organization structure, identifying trends, and preparing HR plans (i.e., performance management tracking, vacancy reports, HR scorecard, retention rates, etc.).
    • Assist in maintaining employee records in the company's HRIS system (i.e., new employee record, status changes, etc.), as needed.
    • Maintain relationship with payroll for relevant personnel/payroll change notifications.
    • Ensure overall compliance with state, federal, county and agency requirements as they relate to payroll, benefits, and employment practices.
    • Assist with compliance related projects and activities, including ACA, I-9, Affirmative Action, EEOC, etc.
    • Provide general administrative and HR support on a variety of HR projects as directed by Human Resources Leadership (i.e., information research, data summary, narrative for statistical reports, etc.).
    • Demonstrate tact and diplomacy and maintains discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee data.
    • Frequent travel to assigned facilities to build and maintain relationships, conduct investigates and employee relations matters, and ensure visibility for employees and management.
    • Handle additional complex assignments as needed.
    Education and Other Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant major, required.
    • Master's Degree, preferred.
    • PHR or SPHR or other relevant certification, preferred.
    • 5 or more years HR related experience.
    • Broad knowledge of Employment Law and HR principles, practices, and procedures.
    • Ability to meet deliverables in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
    • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Effective leadership skills and verbal and written communication skills are required.
    • Ability to handle sensitive employee and company information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
    • Must work independently and as a member of team.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and highly proficient in using MS Excel for data analysis, transformation, and presentation.
    Mental and Physical Requirements:
    • Able to read, speak and write English.
    • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions.
    • Sitting - at desk or computer station, standing, walking, speaking, hearing - frequent
    • Bending/Stooping, twisting, lifting - occasional
    • Gripping, reaching, writing, fingering (data entry), handling (paper, files, etc.) - frequent
    • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
    • Fine Motor Skills - typing, ability to write for extended periods of time
    • Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors
    • Seeing - able to see the computer screen
    • Climbing - able to go up and down stairs (as needed)
    • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
