    Work Arrangement
    On site: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center.

    The Role

    First-level supervisor of an engineering group will be responsible for leading and supporting the execution of multiple projects within the battery, engine, fuel cells.

    Responsibilities include managing individual project workload as well as leading project teams. Work is performed in a team environment where you will have daily interactions with product engineering, plant engineering, other manufacturing engineers and a multitude of others to successfully launch new products. You will be working in a centralized engineering center and plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

    What You'll Do

    • Prioritization of workload to enable employees to accomplish all responsibilities.
    • Design, build, integration, plant installation, successful launch, and continuous improvement of test equipment in plants to produce high-quality parts
    • Project management of multiple test projects across all GPS products
    • Creation & maintenance of engineering standardized work (BOP/BOE/specifications/etc.)
    • Develop the production manufacturing test process for new products.
    • Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
    • Perform People Leader responsibilities for direct reports including but not limited to:
    • Goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews
    • Managing results and evaluating/coaching individual performance
    • Compensation planning and communication
    • Training and development planning
    • Support manager with general administrative tasks such as managing budget targets, approving travel requests, expense reports, purchasing requests, planning vacation schedules.
    Additional Description

    Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
    • 5+ Years Experience on Supervising Engineering Team
    • 3+ Years Experience on Engine/Transmission assembly process
    • 5+ Years Experience on Project Management Experience
    • Basic understanding on Test Process
    • Powertrain Component and Process Familiarity/experience
    • Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering
    What Will Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualification)
    • Data Acquisition and Measurement Systems Experience
    • Project Execution Experience (New Process/Products)
    • Problem Solving Tools and Root Cause Analysis Experience.
