    LVNs work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians to provide basic bedside care to patients.

    They also assist in monitoring, observing, and communicating with patients and their families about medication, at-home care, and preventative lifestyle changes.

    Mother Baby (Postpartum)

    LVN/LPN Duties:
    Prepare and recover cesarean section surgical patients with both regional and general anesthesia.
    Provides care appropriate to the age of the population served.
    Planning and managing patient care according to each patient's needs.

    Interviewing patients and recording their medical historyObtaining patient vital signs and escorting patients to their roomsAdministering injections of medicationsVerifying that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately.

    Observing and recording patients' conditions and reactions to medications and treatmentsAdheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
    Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
    Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
    Implements measures to prevent exposure to infectious pathogens and communicable conditions.
    Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
    Monitors temperature of blanket/fluid warmers and rotates fluids therein.
    Inputs charges into the computer and logs patients into record books and census sheets.
    Providing Mother-baby care when staffing and census warrants.
    Advocate for family-centered care.
    Provides bedside hand-off whenever transfer of care occurs.
    Provides appropriate care/care planning to unit guidelines, designation and national mandates.
    Provides clear information to providers regarding status of the patient.
    Educates the patient and her family on all aspects of her care.
    Assesses and intervenes appropriately based on patient's coping abilities.
    Accurately assesses quantitative blood loss after delivery.
    Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the assessment and care of antepartum, postpartum women, pediatric patients and well neonates. #ZRLicensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN)

    Experience in performing scrub tech role in the OR preferred, not required.
