    Job Description
    As the Associate Director of Clinical Business Operations, your key responsibility will be to facilitate the success of clinical initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Finance, and Legal departments, to determine the optimal strategies for expanding pipeline. Your duties will include developing outsourcing strategies, selecting and contracting vendors, managing vendor budgets and accruals, and overseeing vendor relationships and governance. Additionally, you will negotiate and implement clinical study site budgets and payment terms.

    Your role involves:
    • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and contract with clinical vendors.
    • Managing the negotiation and execution of contracts and change orders.
    • Working with cross-functional teams to refine governance processes and oversee key clinical vendors' performance.
    • Partnering with the Legal team to create Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs) and negotiate site budgets with Contract Research Organization (CRO) counterparts.
    • Supporting financial planning and management of clinical studies, including developing efficient processes for budgeting and expense tracking.
    • Leading and mentoring junior team members to foster their development and support program goals.
    • Continuously improving systems and processes to enhance overall performance.
    Success in this role requires strong relationship-building with external vendors, expertise in structuring service agreements, and proficiency in outsourcing management, contract negotiation, budget management, and vendor oversight.

    Requirements

    Your Background:
    • You have 8+ years of experience in clinical vendor outsourcing, management and/or clinical financial management. Sponsor experience is strongly preferred.
    • You have experience with all aspects of vendor oversight or alliance management: from vendor selection and contracting to vendor performance management and relationship building.
    • You have expertise working with cross-functional teams, within Clinical Development as well as Finance, Legal, and Quality.
    • You have a strong understanding of clinical development activities and finances with hands-on financial analytics experience.
    • You have effective negotiation, project management and creative problem-solving skills.
    • You are a motivated self-starter who is capable of flourishing in a fast-paced small company environment.
    • You are pragmatic and able to manage multiple projects and needs effectively.
    • You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, allowing for an open and effective dialogue throughout the organization.
    • You possess the ability to influence without authority, lead change and manage resistance to change. You must be able to solicit information, persuade others and shape outcomes.
    • You have a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving ability, and attention to detail and quality are critical to success.
