    About this Job

    We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at the Aurora/MS Free Standing Emergency Department. This is a full-time day shift position that requires 3+ years of recent ED registered nurse experience.

    Job Summary

    This leadership role assists the Nurse Manager in providing patient safety and optimizing quality patient outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing unit operations, professional practice standards, and staff evaluation. They will also assist in developing and implementing standards of care, participating in staff competency monitoring, and coaching and developing staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist the Nurse Manager in providing leadership and direction to enhance patient safety and optimize quality patient outcomes.
    • Oversight of unit operations and professional practice standards.
    • Evaluation of staff performance.
    • Development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care for the unit and patient population.
    • Participation in staff competency monitoring.
    • Clinical coaching and development of staff.
    • Collaboration with CNS/Educator to meet educational needs of the unit(s).
    • Management of resources, including distribution of work and matching assigned provider competency to patient needs.
    • Resolution of operational/budgetary, patient, and personnel issues.
    • Participation in development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care protocols, guidelines, and strategic initiatives.

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of recent ED registered nurse experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
    • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
    • Relevant certification as determined at position level.
