    Freelance Interpreters for On-site Consecutive Interpreting

    Piedmont Global Language Solutions (PGLS) is a leading provider of language services offering interpretation, translation, transcription, cultural sensitivity training, and more. Our vast network of language professionals covers over 200 languages and dialects.

    PGLS is looking for freelance interpreters to deliver on-site language interpretation services in Douglas, Arizona. Specifically, we need interpreters for Spanish<>English language pairs. These positions are classified as '1099' (Independent Contractor) roles, requiring interpreters to be physically present for the interpretation.

    Interpreter Functions:

    • Provide interpretations for various verbal communications, including questions, answers, statements, and explanations.
    • Act as a bridge between individuals with diverse voices, accents, and speaking styles.
    • Deliver clear and precise consecutive interpretations without any alterations.
    • Conduct sight translations of written materials when necessary.
    • Convey the message, emotions, and tone between languages accurately.
    • Inform relevant parties of any potential obstacles affecting performance.
    • Adhere to ethical and professional standards.

    Requirements:

    • Hold a valid driver's license or government-issued ID.
    • Ability to commute to the designated location.
    • Reside in the specified area.
    • Access to a mobile phone.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Prior interpreting experience, whether paid or voluntary.
    • Two (2) professional references or one (1) reference along with a recommendation letter.
    • Proficiency in English and the target language.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • University degree in Interpretation.

    If available, interpreters are encouraged to provide proof of certifications and test results from recognized organizations.
