Job description
Blanchard Valley Health System, in partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is seeking a full-time Vascular Surgeon to help shape a high-quality, community-focused vascular program in Northwest Ohio- Establish and lead a community-based vascular surgery program at Blanchard Valley Health System in partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
- Provide advanced vascular surgical care, including Abdominal and thoracic aneurysmal disease, Carotid artery disease, Hemodialysis access, Peripheral vascular disease and limb salvage.
- Perform both open and endovascular procedures.
- Manage vascular conditions with medical therapy, lifestyle modification, and non-surgical interventions.
- Maintain a weekly schedule of
- 2 clinic days
- 3 procedural/surgical days
- Take 10 night/weekend call shifts per month (does not include daytime coverage).
- Share call responsibilities with A PRN vascular surgeon, A vascular surgery APP, and An OSU vascular surgeon (phone support only)
- Supervise advanced practice provider(s) involved in vascular care delivery.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment with cardiology, interventional radiology, and other specialties.
- Participate in the development and future expansion of the program, including, Recruitment of an additional vascular surgeon and APP by end of 2027 and Transition to a hybrid operating room (construction planned to complete by 2027)
- Deliver patient-centered care in a high-quality, community-focused setting.
- Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment options, wellness, and disease prevention.
- Maintain responsive and open communication with referring physicians.
- Participate in institutional service activities at the department, college, and medical center levels.
- Serve as a preceptor and provide training to Medical students, Residents, Fellows, Nursing staff, and Allied health professionals
- Opportunity for program leadership based on experience and interest.
- Receive a clinical faculty appointment (Assistant or Associate Professor) with The Ohio State University; role is 100% clinical and based in Findlay, Ohio (non-academic site).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Group goals focused on quality, operations and productivity and determined by Division Director
- Potential to earn annual bonus up to $75K based on scorecard metrics to be established by the Division director at OSUWMC
- One-time signing bonus of $50,000
- Relocation stipend up to $15,000
- 176 hours of vacation time per year with a 240-hour carryover limit
- 120 hours of sick time accrued annually
- 11 paid holidays per year (8-hour days)
- $7,500 annual CME allowance
- 401k and 403b tax-deferred retirement plan options
- Eligibility for full OSU retirement benefits
- Clinical faculty appointment through The Ohio State University
- Full-time position dedicated to Blanchard Valley Health System in Findlay, Ohio
- Total annual compensation potential of $500,000 to $600,000 or more
