    Description

    We are seeking a General Manager for a chemical manufacturing operation in Minden, Louisiana. The General Manager has P&L responsibility for all Minden operations and is part of the executive leadership team. Operations include safety, quality, manufacturing, lab operations, logistics, maintenance, sales, and marketing.

    Salary: $130,000-$170,000 DOE + variable compensation

    Essential Functions

    • Model company values and provide leadership to all functions of the site.
    • Ensure safe, high-quality, and profitable operation of the site.
    • Optimize site productivity by maximizing sales and improving operations.
    • Develop a budget, manage the operation to budget, and report on financial performance to the executive leadership team.
    • Ensure the site's long-term viability by planning for maintenance, capital projects, and other improvements.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Develop a high-performing team at all levels of the organization.
    • Evolve the strategy for the site, including possible expansion into adjacent or new products.
    • Develop and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.

    Competencies, Experience, and Education:

    Required

    • Ability to operate with complete trust, discretion, and autonomy.
    • Demonstrated excellence in multiple relevant functions (operations, sales, finance, etc.)
    • Strong leadership and management skills and the ability to lead by direct authority and by influence.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong negotiation skills with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and address operational inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Ability to perform this through multiple approaches.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to develop and execute a vision for the future of the site.

    Preferred

    • Background in Engineering
    • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or operations organization.
    • 5 years of experience working in a growing small business.

    Applicants are required to be a US citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b. Applicants much also be able to obtain explosives licenses, which includes passing a criminal background check and a drug test.
