    Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders.

    We are hiring for an Youth Supportive Services Outreach & Engagement Specialist who will be located at our Seattle branch.

    The hours for this position are 8 am – 4:00 pm. The pay range for this position is $58,000 - $60,000/annually DOE.

    Requirements:


    Establish relationships and maintain regular contact with eligible youth and young adults at identified locations (schools, community centers, juvenile detention, etc.).

    Provide outreach, engagement and advocacy services to youth and young adults as needed.

    Collaborate with THS youth mental health and substance use disorder clinicians, accept case management referrals from clinicians, refer YSS youth to THS clinicians for mental health and substance use treatment and support.

    Work with clients to assess the need for additional services, including behavioral health supports, housing employment and educational supports. Make the appropriate referrals, facilitate connection and provide follow-up.
    Develop and access linkages with other agencies for the purpose of providing referral sources/resources for clients.
    Assist eligible youth in lowering use of drugs/alcohol or maintaining sobriety.
    Conduct group sessions and workshops on topics relevant to and requested by encountered eligible youth and young adult participants.
    Identify any trends observed in participating youth and young adults and document these trends in the monthly narrative report.
    Produce monthly narrative report. Gather client-level data and enter on approved client tracking spreadsheet. Submit client level data on a quarterly basis.
    Participate in regular supervision, case staffing, consultations and general meetings with other agency staff.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in one of the social sciences
    At least one year experience providing outreach, engagement, case management and youth/young adult skills training.
    Current Washington State Driver's license, proof of insurance required and reliable transportation for travel within King County area.
    Certified Peer Counselor/Agency Affiliated Counselor credentials required.

    Knowledge of and experience working with diverse youth and young adult populations: BIPOC, LGBTQIA, low income, unstably housed and justice system involved youth/young adults.

    Ability to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries with participating youth/young adults.
    Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other service systems and community members.
    Knowledge of community resources and referral/follow-up processes.
    Must be self-starting and have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision to achieve contracted program goals.
    Strong written and oral communication skills.
