- Design and conduct R&D into feasibility, optimization, and qualification of clinical biomarker assays
- Perform hands on studies including ELISpot, tissue-based assays (e.g. IHC) and molecular studies including protocol development, assay optimization, qualification, and troubleshooting, and monitoring assay performance
- Conduct studies on clinical biospecimens for one or more clinical trials
- Analyze and interpret results, conduct meta-analyses, and apply statistical methodologies,
- Accessioning and recording clinical trial specimens according to established SOPs
- Serve as in-house subject matter expert on selected biomarkers
- Contribute to corporate biomarker team goals and collaborate with Clinical Operations, Data Science and Preclinical as needed.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, presentations and communicate results
- Maintains appropriate workstation inventory, as well as current, complete, legible electronic/paper notebooks and laboratory records in compliance with good scientific and regulatory practices
- Assist with general lab duties, protocols and compliance responsibilities, and be proactively involved in assigned research
- A PhD in immunology, cell biology or related field, plus two years experience (or Master's plus four years experience)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent cross-functional team participation skills
- Proven skills in assay development and data analytics
- Hands-on experience with primary human immune cells assays and molecular techniques
- Familiarity with tissue biology-based techniques such as immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence
- Experience organizing, managing, and analyzing scientific data sets and proficiency with MS Excel, PowerBI, or SQL
- Self-motivated, detailed-oriented, proactive, and organized
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment to meet deadlines
- Two or more years of industry experience
- Demonstrated understanding and hands-on experience with in vitro models and cancer biology
- Prior experience in assay development in tissue/cell-based assays such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescent microscopy, pathology imaging, and analysis
- Experience in operating and maintaining IHC equipment such as autostainers, scanners, etc.
- Experience in R, Python, or other programming languages desirable
- Generation and management of relational databases for analysis of data or publication of interactive dashboards
- Bioinformatics experience helpful
