    Shipping Superintendent - Oklahoma City, United States - Continental Carbon

    Description
    Establish and execute the strategic direction using operational processes to support the Shipping,
    Receiving, Stockroom, Packaging and Planning/Supply Chain Management functions. Ensure inventory
    integrity through diligent cycle counting and reporting. This position is responsible for ensuring
    compliance with all government regulations, corporate directives, and workmanship guidelines for the
    safe handling, shipping, storage and warehousing of materials within the facilities.


    • Responsible for planning, directing, controlling and managing the Shipping, Warehouse, Inventory areas
    of the plant.


    • Optimizes safety, quality, efficiency and costs.
    • Responsible for all equipment, hardware and personnel assigned to Department.
    • Develops departmental strategic planning to fit plant strategies and objectives.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Functional Responsibilities


    • Manage the safe utilization of all department resources to ensure reliable service to our customers.
    • Assure compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies.
    • Develop programs to prevent accidents and maintain safe working conditions.
    • Manage the quality improvement process to ensure continuous improvement in all products packaged.
    • Manage and administer cost reduction via elimination of waste to improve our costs of packaging.
    • Develop and manage department operating budget and maintain all costs within budget.
    • Plan, administer and manage department's operating and capital budgets to improve plant reliability,
    improve quality and increase productivity.


    • Improve people performance through coaching, education and training to ensure long-term dependability
    and increase productivity. Administer collective bargaining agreement, conduct investigations, administer
    discipline as needed, and participate in recruitment and hiring of personnel.


    • Provide leadership for continued improvement in efficiencies and economics.
    • Develop and implement appropriate departmental policies and procedures.
    • Control packaging and shipping costs.
    • Assist in the development of product cost models and forecasts.
    • Plan and analyze manpower/staffing requirements.
    • Develop, analyze, and recommend capital and lease expenditure requests.
    • Develop Supervisors in all aforementioned areas.

    and local community leaders.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field. Five years of relevant work experience, including demonstrated
    leadership skills in a supervisory position.


    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft AX database applications.
    • Effective communicator, both oral and written.
    • Demonstrated success in dealing with labor relations, performance management, quality management,
    environmental issues, and personnel safety.


    • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, budgeting, and cost management.
