E-commerce Warehouse

Job Summary

Oversees all aspects of the Company's warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment and shipping.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to managing warehouse staff, optimizing processes, and ensuring that the Company's operations meet the highest standards of efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Collaborates with Company management in the development of the department's goals.

Performs a variety of management and administration functions which require a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.

Coaches, mentors, assists and directs personnel, vendors/clients, and resolves operational problems and inquiries; composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence and reports, and prepares a range of operations documents.

Accountable to ensure that company goals for productivity, quality and accountability are continually met.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse managers, supervisors, and staff.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and high performance.
Ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet operational needs, including hiring and training new employees.
Resolve warehouse issues, implementing negotiation and conflict resolution techniques.
Recruits, hires, and trains new warehouse employees. Coaches, counsels, schedules and disciplines current warehouse employees as needed by enforcing policies and procedures.

Operations Management:
Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate order processing.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes and improve productivity.
Manage warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency and storage capacity.

Manage warehouse worker schedules to ensure there is enough labor at all times to properly operate equipment and complete shipping and receiving.

Contributes to creating and recommending strategic plans and reviews in order to achieve operational objectives. Prepares and implements production and quality plans based around customer service standards. Resolves problems and identifies trends.
Determines product handling and storage requirements to develop warehouse operations systems. Develops, implements, evaluates and enforces policies and procedures. Develops processes for receiving product, storing product, utilizing equipment, managing inventory and shipping product.

Inventory Control
Implement and maintain effective inventory management systems.
Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Develop strategies to minimize shrinkage and obsolescence.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve warehouse performance.
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, including productivity, accuracy, and cost metrics.
Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

Technology and Systems:
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in warehouse operations.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of systems.

Budget Management:
Develop and manage the warehouse operations budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective solutions.
Monitor and control operational expenses to meet budgetary goals.

Forecasts requirements, prepares annual budgets, schedules expenditures, analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions in order to meet financial objectives of the warehouse.

Vendor and Stakeholder Relations:
Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and other external vendors.
Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, customer service, and sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Serve as a point of contact for resolving operational issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Competencies/QUalifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of managing large-scale warehouse operations in an e-commerce or retail environment.
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
