    Description

    Our client, a leading tech company, is seeking a Head of Legal to join their executive team.

    About the Role:

    • Provide executive leadership, oversight, and direction of all legal matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, corporate governance and law enforcement relations
    • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement legal strategies that align with the organization's business goals and objectives
    • Leverage experience in negotiating and closing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic ventures in order to contribute to the organization's growth
    • Perform the function of Corporate Secretary and advise both the CEO and the Board of Directors on corporate governance-related matters, to include best practices and maintenance of corporate records
    • Advise on complex legal issues related to business transactions, intellectual property, data privacy & security, employment, and other legal areas impacting the organization.
    • Lead and manage the legal team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a high-performance culture
    • Represent the company's legal interests in negotiations, transactions, and interactions with external partners, regulators, and stakeholders
    • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure ethical conduct
    • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and recommend proactive strategies to address legal challenges
    • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, contributing to key decisions and initiatives that impact the organization's overall success

    About You:

    • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
    • 12+ years of experience practicing law, with a strong background in corporate and commercial law
    • Prior experience in a leadership or management role within a legal department or law firm
    • Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and business acumen
    • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
