- Provide fun, challenging and safe classes with thoughtful modifications for a diverse clientele.
- Create a complete class schedule: times, days, types of classes.
- Write up all class descriptions and work with marketing to create advertising content.
- Revise schedule throughout the year based on client interests, requests, instructors, season.
- Assign instructors to classes & get each class covered by certified instructors when necessary.
- Monitor the quality of classes, providing feedback to instructors, and evaluating the success of the programs based on attendance and member feedback.
- Recruiting/auditioning instructors for hiring.
- Teach classes an average of 10 hours per week.
- Develop new class formats, coordinate special events/clinics, and staying up-to-date on fitness trends to keep the programs fresh.
- Create a positive and motivating atmosphere for members to achieve their fitness goals through group exercise.
- Join sales and marketing team to build unique and marketable classes.
- Work with front desk to make sure registration process is smooth.
- Problem solve with front desk if any class registration issues.
- Inform with front desk if any changes to the schedules or new classes or special events being offered.
- Set up independent contractors to offer trainings for continuing education for instructors in the area.
- Engage with customers for feedback and class satisfaction – heavy focus on guest experience.
- Capable to sub all class formats as needed.
- Strong Leadership with excellent judgment, dependability, conscientious performance and the awareness to prioritize what matters most.
- Detail Oriented with strong organizational and management skills and can shift between driving strategy and managing a large volume of operational details in the fitness department.
- Financial Acumen with understanding of the impact of revenue in relation to services and basic accounting standards.
- The ability to respond appropriately under pressure.
- Sound judgment and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Superb written and verbal communication skill
- A positive attitude and the ability to build relationships with clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field recommended.
- Previous experience in a customer service role
- At least 2 years of experience in the Fitness Industry and class instruction
- Previous management experience in the fitness, gym or wellness industry
- CPR and AED certification

SUMMARY The Group Fitness Lead oversees and manages the group fitness programs in regard to creating class schedules, hiring and training fitness instructors, ensuring classes run smoothly, and promoting the programs to attract more participants.
