Reviews and interprets building and structural construction documents and reports related to plans review for townhouses condominiums multi-family and mixed use projects commercial construction to include new construction additions alterations of simple to complex commercial business mercantile assembly educational industrial storage factory institutional projects among others Ensures compliance with structural non-structural requirements accessibility fire fire site systems reviews for compliance with applicable codes Receives responds to requests for information complaints interpretation of code requirements Advises architects engineers contractors general public staff on code changes interpretations new methods materials negotiates solutions to code conformance problems life safety issues Identifies inadequacies found on construction plans reports calculations requires corrections Documents aspects of compliance non-compliance citations from applicable codes Creates plan review comment letter Researches alternate products materials methods of construction for compliance Negotiates develops mutually acceptable solutions to code conformance problems life safety issues architects engineers contractors public Assists Plans Review Manager researches codes resolve interpretation problems accommodate control new methods materials Provides quality customer service functioning regulatory capacity Coordinates Permit Manager Fire Marshal Office Watershed Department Business License Planning concerned parties Assists building inspectors fire inspectors field review questions determine structural soundness proper installation materials equipment Attends training improve technical expertise acquires additional certifications maintains trains software perform electronic plan review Minimum Qualifications Bachelor degree Architecture Structural Engineering Fire Science Technology related field required five years experience building design document preparation plan review code analysis inspections systems review or related field equivalent combination education training experience provides requisite knowledge skills abilities job Specific License Certification Required Must possess maintain valid Georgia driver license Obtain one year employment ICC Building Plans Examiner ICC Fire Plans Examiner NFPA Certified Plan Examiner ICC Accessibility InspectorPlans Examiner Certification The most competitive candidates Fire Rescue Department will have expertise experience Conducting Life Safety Reviews according applicable codes Conducting Site Reviews according applicable codes Conducting Structural Reviews according applicable codes Conducting Suppression Hood SystemsSprinklers Reviews according applicable codes Conducting Alarm Reviews according applicable codes Familiarity ability navigate following minimum 2018 IFC NFPA 101 NFPA 13 NFPA 72 Georgia Amendments SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION The most competitive candidates Decatur GA Will have expertise experience Building & amp;FirePlsnsExminer=
