    Southwest Construction is looking for a Diesel Equipment Technician to join are TEAM

    Purpose:

    This person will help with the work on the company's small, medium, and heavy construction equipment, working on different tasks regularly using problem solving skills to reach a solution including maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and disassembly of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, brake systems, electrical systems, computer-controlled components and much more.

    Job Duties:

    • Responsible for maintenance and repair of our modern high-tech fleet of small, medium, and heavy construction equipment.
    • Properly documenting repairs made.
    • Working knowledge of Cat, Case, Deutz, Volvo, John Deere, Isuzu, Kubota engine components very helpful but not required.
    • Road test, inspect, and troubleshoot to assess condition and diagnose equipment.
    • Perform scheduled maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot, adjust, disassemble, and repair gas and diesel engines, fuel systems, a/c, and brake systems on fleet construction equipment (Skid steers, Excavators, Boom lifts, Sky tracks, Scrubbers, Loaders, Saws, Vacuums and more).
    • Adjust or repair lift booms, loaders, scrubber operating systems, hydraulic components and wiring systems and more.
    • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, replace, and rewire electrical system components, such as ignition, lights, and electrical controls, including troubleshoot computer-controlled components.
    • Field repairs may be necessary when equipment is on-site during construction projects.
    • Work in conjunction with other shop and jobsite personnel.
    • Maintain safe and clean work area required.
    • Must possess or obtain tools for work.
    • Work 40+ hours per week.

    Requirements:

    • Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and repair of gas and diesel small, medium and heavy construction equipment preferred.
    • Valid driver license with good driving record
    • ASE certification or accredited technical school helpful but not required
    • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
    • Requires knowledge of materials, parts, tools, and basic principles to repair construction equipment
    • Availability to work overtime including weekends if needed
    • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience preferred
    • Graduated or attending classes from an accredited technical school preferred
