General Statement of Duties

Forsyth County's Tax Administration department has an opening for Office Administrator.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to become part of a fast-paced environment working with and for the citizens of Forsyth County.

A person in this position would be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the departmental budget; communicating with property owners:
and handling day to day office responsibilities.

Distinguishing Features

A successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

Ability to communicate with others tactfully and courteously.

Ability to maintain work standards of program activities and ability to analyze and correct errors.

Ability to summarize, compile and tabulate narrative and numerical material.

Ability to interpret and analyze applicable program content objectives and make necessary decisions.

Thorough knowledge of office management techniques including the ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities.

Minimum Education And Experience

Graduation from high school or GED and four years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative/office management experience.

A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.

A valid drivers license is required.


Experience working in a local tax office or another governmental organization is preferred as this will help the applicant as they are responsible for many of the clerical duties that occur during the year.

However, prior government experience is not a requirement as long as the applicant is well organized and can prioritize quickly.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Processing vendor payments

Processing refunds

Ensuring the proper paperwork is prepared for Commissioner Meetings

Handling official tax notices in the local papers.

Performs related work as required.
