    Job Description:

    Summary:
    The Registered Dietitian, under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Nursing and in accordance with Physicians or Physician extenders, will provide education and guidance on meal planning, care coordination, nutrition evaluation, and recommendations.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Provide nutritional assessments and develop individualized meal plans based on patients' medical conditions, dietary needs, and personal preferences.
    2. Collaborate with Physicians or Physician extenders to ensure dietary plans align with overall treatment goals and medical management.
    3. Conduct educational sessions for patients and their families regarding nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications.
    4. Monitor patients' progress and make adjustments to meal plans as needed to optimize health outcomes.
    5. Work closely with the healthcare team to coordinate nutritional care and support interdisciplinary treatment plans.
    6. Document nutrition assessments, interventions, and patient progress in medical records according to established protocols.
    7. Stay updated on current research, guidelines, and best practices in clinical nutrition and incorporate evidence-based recommendations into practice.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution.
    2. Registered Dietitian (RD) certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
    3. Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a healthcare facility or hospital.
    4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate and motivate patients.
    5. Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy principles and the ability to apply them to diverse patient populations.
    6. Proficiency in medical record documentation and computer skills.
    7. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
