    Job Summary
    Responsible for conducting research, evaluating research findings, and drafting responses to basic audit inquiries. Build relationships with client personnel to assist with sales and use tax issues. Perform tax research and analysis. Support audits and special projects as needed.
    Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities



    Collects all financial information from customers and provides required documents and prepared sales and excise tax audits while in compliance.


    Researches and reconciles customer accounts, evaluates account balances, and schedules and performs regular audits on tax . Researches and adjusts customer invoices.


    Supports tax helpline for internal/external customers, researching questions and resolving tax issues.


    Assists supervisor with special projects as assigned.

    Performs any tasks necessary to ensure we accomplish our goals of increased compliance to tax laws and lower tax audit liabilities.



    Prepares required support papers and assists on all federal and state tax payments and ensures compliance to ensure proper taxation of sales and purchases on Vertex software, ERP system, and other applications.



    Provides support to all non-income taxes issues and performs research on various tax issues and prepares all comprehensive memos, and maintains a record of all transactions for business issues.



    Provides all communication for tax risks on all business transactions and collaborates with internal teams to assist all business transactions and provides assistance to all external accounting units.


    Responds to all queries associated with tax submissions and ensure compliance to all extensions and payments.
    Nature and Scope
    Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data.
    Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor.
    May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel.
    Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
    Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
    Education and Experience
    Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas.

    Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.


    Associate Degree or 2+ years in area of responsibility.


    Knowledge of Vertex and other tax software is a plus.


    Excel proficiency with Pivot Tables and Vlookup.

    Salary range:
    USD Hourly
