    About the Role:

    Role: Senior Analytics Engineer

    As an Analytics Engineer you will be responsible to design, build, and maintain the Minecraft Analytics Environment. You will focus on delivering solutions rather than technology to realize the value of our data assets. You will support initiatives to democratize data and unlock self-serve capabilities which empower data consumers to efficiently leverage the data. To be successful, you must select, model, and prepare the best data for the solution; Utilize the data platform and cloud infrastructure to engineer the tools and technologies needed to source, process, and deliver the data; Collaborate with your Data Science colleagues and work directly with data consumers and stakeholders to understand their needs and evolve the Analytics Environment at the pace of the business to drive impactful outcomes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with data consumers and stakeholders to understand their data needs.
    • Identify and analyze multi-structured data from a variety of sources to assess its effectiveness and accuracy to meet analytics requirements.
    • Build and maintain automated data pipelines to transform data into clean, enriched, and highly optimized polyglot data models which fulfil analytic requirements & evolve with changing needs. Use modern data engineering practices and frameworks to create scalable big data solutions for analytics and machine learning, while ensuring data quality.
    • Write and maintain technical documentation for the data models and analytics solutions.
    • Provide data access tools and documentation for users to unlock the value of the analytics data. Contribute to the design, development, testing and maintenance of data architectures and infrastructure.
    • Provide stewardship in the creation, collection, and maintenance of metadata.
    • Handle confidential information responsibly and correctly applying security and privacy policies.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ year working as a data engineer or equivalent on large enterprise systems
    • A proven track record building and optimizing big data pipelines for analytic solutions
    • Data analysis skills to identify, select and prepare quality data for analytics use cases.
    • Experience building ETL/ELT processes and frameworks with Cloud Data Platforms; Azure experience preferred.
    • Proficient SQL skills, and DML/DDL for different cloud database platforms.
    • Strong Python skills and experience for data processing combined with a pythonic mindset. DevOps experience including feature planning, version control, multi-environment, CI/CD. Familiarity with Delta Lake.
    • Familiarity with Databricks.
    • Critical thinker and problem solver who approaches each situation with an open mindset

    Top 3 Hard Skills Required:

    • Minimum 3-5 years experience with | Python.
    • Minimum 2+ years experience with SQL.
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience with Data modeling.
    • Minimum 5 years experience with Big data pipelines.
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience with Cloud experience.

    Location: Redmond, WA

    Salary Range: $145,000 - $156,000 Annually - Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
