Description
Sunderland Elementary School seeks a Paraeducator to work with students in grades K-6 The Paraeducator performs a variety of instructional and/or support duties to assist the school and teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students in groups or one-on-one teacher to student ratios.
The Paraeducator supports students in all aspects of their education by supporting an environment conducive to learning.As a positive and nurturing member of the school team, this position understands and attends to a variety of students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
This position supports school teams in the implementation of teaching plans and/or services for individual students according to their Individual Education Plan and/or programs designed by a teacher or other professional as directed.
Paraeducators work under the day-to-day direction of the staff member(s) supported, and under the direct supervision of the Principal. Teachers and/or special education personnel will provide specific directions and oversight for supervision and/or instructional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, compassion, and empathy when working with students, and professionalism when representing the school.
