    What you'll be doing...

    This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort

    You will be supporting all aspects of building and data center facility infrastructure for one of Verizon's critical enterprise data centers.


    These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Mechanical and electrical system Operations, maintenance and repairs

    Operating Facility emergency power generation plant

    Operate and maintain Building automation systems (BAS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) operations and CMMS

    Understand how to use Power Monitoring and analyzing tools to troubleshoot failures

    Participate and lead in compliance activities related to data center operations, physical security, and insurance.

    Perform energy audits and best practice initiatives

    Understand and react to physical security issues

    Vendor management and escorting

    Perform general building maintenance

    Troubleshoot alarms and failures with mechanical and electrical infrastructure

    Cover any shift and provide on call coverage as necessary

    What we're looking for...
    You have knowledge about Critical Facilities Management. You enjoy analyzing problems and having the autonomy to select and implement the right solutions.

    While you work well independently, you are also a great team player and enjoy working with colleagues and coordinating efforts to ensure completion.

    No stranger to a fast-paced environment, you manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while staying focused on maintaining availability and uptime.

    As a contributor, you can quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.


    You'll need to have:
    This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort

    Associates degree or technical school certificate in mechanical or electrical field

    Five or more years of relevant work experience

    NJ low Pressure boiler black seal license or within 180 days of hire date

    Federal CFC certification or within 180 days of hire date

    Ability to write and modify MOPs and SOPs

    Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems

    Knowledge of fire safety systems


    Even better if you have:
    A Bachelor degree in mechanical or electrical field

    Experience working with critical facilities principles and procedures

    Five or more years of Electrical and Mechanical large facility infrastructure management (UPS, Generator, PDU, Chillers, etc.)

    Experience with Change Management, process documentation and vendor management

    Knowledge of data center construction principles

    More than 5 years of practical work experience within an enterprise data center

    Understanding of water treatment systems

    Project management skills

    Experience with automated Building Management Systems
