    School Psychologist

    Location: Wilmington, IL

    Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team in Wilmington, IL. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of our students. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and community members to promote positive outcomes for all students and create a supportive and inclusive school environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and behavior.
    • Interpret assessment results and collaborate with educators and parents to develop individualized intervention plans and support strategies to address students' needs.
    • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students experiencing social-emotional difficulties, trauma, or other challenges impacting their learning and well-being.
    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement evidence-based interventions and behavior management strategies in the classroom and school-wide.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, develop intervention plans, and make recommendations for special education services and accommodations.
    • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with challenging behaviors, providing training and support to staff in implementation.
    • Serve as a resource and consultant to educators and families on topics related to child development, learning disabilities, mental health, and behavioral concerns.
    • Stay informed of best practices in school psychology, special education law, and regulations, and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Master's or specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited program required.

    Certifications:

    • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting preferred.
    • Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques, including standardized assessments, rating scales, and behavioral observation methods.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and community partners.
    • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the ability to advocate for the needs of diverse student populations.
