- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and behavior.
- Interpret assessment results and collaborate with educators and parents to develop individualized intervention plans and support strategies to address students' needs.
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students experiencing social-emotional difficulties, trauma, or other challenges impacting their learning and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement evidence-based interventions and behavior management strategies in the classroom and school-wide.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, develop intervention plans, and make recommendations for special education services and accommodations.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with challenging behaviors, providing training and support to staff in implementation.
- Serve as a resource and consultant to educators and families on topics related to child development, learning disabilities, mental health, and behavioral concerns.
- Stay informed of best practices in school psychology, special education law, and regulations, and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Master's or specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited program required.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement required.
- Prior experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting preferred.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques, including standardized assessments, rating scales, and behavioral observation methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and community partners.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the ability to advocate for the needs of diverse student populations.
