    About Airlink

    Airlink is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit humanitarian logistics organization that works with aviation and logistics partners to transport relief workers and emergency supplies for reputable non-governmental organizations (NGOs) responding to rapid-onset disasters and other humanitarian crises around the globe.

    Today, Airlink's network consists of more than 50 commercial and charter airlines and 130+ international NGOs. Airlink and its airline partners have transported more than 8,000 passengers and more than 4,500,000 pounds of cargo in support of a broad range of humanitarian initiatives that have provided aid to more than 23 million people. Airlink has saved our NGO partners more than $14,000,000 in transport costs.

    Looking forward, Airlink shows no signs of slowing down, with a three-year strategic plan that includes increasing our team by 25%, improving our operational efficiency, and expanding our global footprint. To that end, we are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to support our growing team and ensure Airlink remains an employer of choice.

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the VP of Operations & Finance, the Human Resources Manager will oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee development. They will ensure that our HR programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned with overall business objectives.

    The ideal candidate must have solid leadership skills and a track record of successfully implementing HR strategies, preferably in a non-profit organization. We're eager to find an HR Manager who connects and communicates easily with people and has the adaptability needed to excel in the dynamic nature of today's workforce. Due to the nature of Airlink's mission supporting disaster response, there will be an occasional need to work extended hours or on weekends with limited advance notice.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    General HR Administration and Systems

    • Oversee and refine HR processes, ensuring alignment with Airlink's goals and strategic plan.
    • Manage HRIS systems; assess current solutions and recommend/implement new systems based on organizational needs.
    • Ensure HR processes and actions comply with labor laws and regulations; share relevant laws and compliance with staff.

    Recruitment

    • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to ensure a robust and diverse applicant pool for all openings.
    • Manage the hiring process to ensure consistency and communication across teams.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding process.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Evaluate and update Airlink's compensation and benefits policy, ensuring best-in-class offerings.
    • Research, implement, and maintain standardized salary ranges across the organization and relative to peer organizations.
    • Manage payroll and benefits administration, including PTO, health insurance, and 401(k).

    Performance Management

    • Support implementation and continuous improvement of annual goal-setting and performance management processes.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to update and maintain organizational chart and job descriptions.
    • Support VP in proactively addressing performance issues, and if necessary, terminations.

    Employee Development

    • Support employee relations to cultivate a positive and respectful workplace culture.
    • Develop internal staff training and identify relevant external professional development opportunities.

    Required Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor's s degree or relevant work experience + High School diploma.
    • At least four years of HR experience - non-profit organization preferred.
    • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution.

    Location:

    Airlink is headquartered in downtown Washington, D.C., and operates a hybrid work schedule with the team in-office three days a week. Given the collaborative nature of this position, we are only considering candidates who are in or willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. Additionally, Airlink provides a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to:
