    SUMMARY

    The Lead Cargo Handler is responsible for ensuring warehouse duties are carried out through the facility in an expedited manner. Assigning staff to receive the shipment(s) from a delivery vehicle, Securing the operation of Company equipment through the warehouse, delegating staff to perform cargo net and ULD inspection, Airworthiness, and all related functions. Designation of personnel to scan and prepare the assembly of cargo unit loaded devices, Report reconciliation. Lastly, the Cargo Lead Handler assist the warehouse supervisor in running reports and the agreement of flight operations. The position is designed to monitor the cleanness of the Miami Hub area and protect the surrounding from FOD. Also, following assignment as dictated by upper management.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

    • Provide Leadership and guidance to cargo handlers, expediting the movement of freight from acceptance thru the completion of buildup and flight preparation.
    • Follow protocol for cross-training personnel and Cross utilization based on operational demand.
    • Monitor productivity levels of each Cargo Handler individually or collectively
    • Contribute and enforce on-time cargo preparation for on-time flight departures.
    • Enforce safe handling of company equipment and movement of cargo within the facility and Ramp.
    • Conduct Cargo acceptance audit in procedures and report inaccuracy of cargo staging, and preparation.
    • Monitor Nets quality inspection and enforce compliance
    • Responsible for accuracy of the scanners and the process of palletization in order to achieve flight maximization
    • Maintain Facility equipment and take control of the forklift equipment's log.
    • Review the tie-down process and the quality control aspect.
    • Enforce accuracy in the weighed process and tagged procedure.
    • Manage company system (ACMS, GENEVA,) for daily operation
    • Full compliance with local government agencies and regulations.
    • Provide Support to Warehouse Supervisor and upper management.

    QUALIFICATION:

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • 3-5 years of warehouse management experience with cargo/freight handling.

    ENVIRONMENT:

    • Exposure to warehouse environment: fast pace, loud, hot, or chill.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

    • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
    • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Familiarity with warehousing practices and methods required
    • Understands and utilizes safe lifting procedures and proper step stools

    SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:

    • Open availability to work a schedule that may require work on weekends, holidays, overtime, or schedule changes with short notice
    • Must have excellent attention to detail, this includes continuously monitoring shipments from the point of receipt to delivery
    • Self-starter attitude, capable of working independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Be able to work in a team environment effectively
    • Ability to lift and/or move heavy items and assist others when lifting is required

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

    Job duties include but are not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting (including wrists), reaching below and overhead, standing for long periods, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting heavy items. Warehouse climate conditions are subject to change without notice.

    Mental, visual, and auditory acuity necessary to work with or near moving mechanical parts (i.e., cooler, dock equipment), in high, precarious places (i.e., ladder work), and cold/hot climate conditions. Ability to work in moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to: computers, human voices, sound systems, and machinery.
