The Lee Group is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Benefits Analyst to support the financial and administrative functions of employee benefit programs for one of our valued clients in Norfolk, VA.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in benefits billing, invoicing, and vendor reconciliation who enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Job Overview
The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of employee benefit programs, with a primary focus on billing accuracy, invoice reconciliation, and vendor coordination.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring benefit costs are properly allocated, discrepancies are resolved quickly, and vendors remain compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Job ResponsibilitiesReview and reconcile monthly benefit invoices including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary plans
Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit-related invoices, credits, and payments
Audit carrier bills against internal enrollment data and investigate discrepancies
Partner with Payroll and Finance to confirm correct deductions, allocations, and cost center charges
Maintain organized records of billing documentation, payment confirmations, and adjustments
Serve as the primary point of contact with benefit vendors regarding billing issues and overcharges
Assist with open enrollment billing changes and premium updates
Prepare detailed reports on benefit costs, trends, and budget variances
Support benefit plan audits, internal reviews, and compliance reporting including 5500 filings
Help implement and improve processes related to invoice tracking and reconciliation
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration with a strong emphasis on billing and reconciliation
Proficiency in Excel and experience working with HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, UKG, or SAP
Strong understanding of benefit programs and vendor invoicing practices
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a corporate HR or finance environment
Knowledge of benefits compliance regulations including ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
Experience working with third-party administrators and benefits brokers
