    Pediatric Intensive Care Unit RN Job Description

    We are seeking experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses (RNs) for an immediate travel nurse assignment in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and meet the following requirements.

    Job Summary:

    This is a critical care nursing position that requires providing exceptional patient care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment. As a PICU RN, you will work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and families to deliver high-quality, coordinated care to these vulnerable patients.

    PICU Travel Nurses provide care to children and adolescents with a wide range of conditions, from common childhood illnesses to life-threatening diseases.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor patients' vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary.
    • Follow continuous cardiac and respiratory monitor readings and report any observed changes.
    • Perform tasks such as changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
    • Adjust specialized equipment used on patients, such as ventilators.
    • Assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures, including life-saving situations.
    • Assist with the insertion or discontinuation of CV catheters, arterial lines, external ventricular drains, Foleys, epidural catheters, and endotracheal tubes.

    Physical Demands:

    PICU RNs must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and lift 10-20 pounds of equipment.

    Additionally, PICU RNs may be exposed to chemicals and infectious diseases.

    Requirements:

    To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
    • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience

    Note: Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

    The estimated salary for this role is $ $145,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
