SUD Counselor (Registered / Certified) ***Urgently Hiring
M-F 10:00 am to 6:30 pm
Salary: $23.00 to $25.04 / hourly (depending on experience and counseling certification status)

SHIELDS' mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.
The SUD Counselor provides linkage, resources, and referrals to other community based service. This includes providing individual, family, and group counseling. The SUD Counselor is responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of existing local private and public community programs, the services they provide, and their eligibility requirements.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- MUST BE A REGISTERED or CERTIFIED as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor with a state approved certifying agency.
- C.A.C., RADT or equivalent experience in drug treatment in a social service environment.
- A valid California driver's license is required for this position, as driving is an essential function of the role and is required for field work, client crisis response and emergencies. A current automobile insurance is required.
- 6 months experience
- COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable.
The employee in this position must be able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others.
