    Specialty commercial construction company is looking for a designer with a strong background in the Curtain Wall & Metal Panel industry:

    Required Education/ Qualifications/ Work Experience:

    • 3-5 years of experience in engineering, building construction, architecture.
    • 3-5 years of experience as a designer of Curtain Wall and Metal Panel systems.
    • Experience in producing shop drawings and fabrication drawings for Curtain Wall & Metal Panel systems a plus.
    • AutoCAD knowledge and experience a must
    • Revit experience is a plus, in addition to any 3D modeling capabilities.
    • Other programs we use: PartnerPak, Glazier Studio, PanelBuilder, FARO Scene, Autodesk Re-Cap & Navisworks.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office application in a high level.
    • Proficient in Bluebeam (a plus)

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Reports directly to Fabrication Manager.
    • Design fully executed Curtain Wall and Storefront fabrication drawings with correct cut lengths, sizes, parts & pieces.
    • Design fully executed Metal Panel/ACM fabrication drawings (Special focus on accuracy of dimension, extrusions, special notes and field conditions to be aware of)
    • Ability to understand and interpret field dimensions and revise shop drawings based on field dimensions to produce fabrication drawings. Able to visit job sites to assist in and obtain field dimensions.
    • Ability to design fully executed Curtain Wall & Metal Panel shop drawings (Special focus on accuracy, emphasis on floor plans, elevations, wall sections, details, general notes and impact of erection)
    • Ability to understand and maintain deadlines for submittals and revisions to shop drawings.
    • Ability to work with Fabrication Shop with necessary and appropriate work load. Able to optimize efficient quantities of material as often as possible for best usage.
    • Ability to work with the Field superintendent & Labor Managers with necessary and appropriate work load.

    • Accurate, detail oriented, team player, responsible and reliable.
    • An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles as it pertains to building construction.
    • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
    • An appreciation of business demands and a willingness to put the company first.
